Our History
LA|Kosher Catering started in 1970 under the name Starlite Catering Inc. by Steve Cohen as Valley Beth Shalom’s exclusive caterer and quickly became one of the premier Kosher Caterers in Southern California.
Upon Steve's retirement in November 2018,
Valley Beth Shalom continued the catering operations as a department of the synagogue adopting the name LA|Kosher Catering to provide exceptional full-service catering.
Valley Beth Shalom and LA|Kosher have both a meat and dairy kitchen to service everyone's palate!

Here at LA|Kosher Catering, we know that planning your affair can seem quite overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. It just takes a planning partner who will listen carefully and ensure that your distinct vision is reflected in every detail. We have been serving elegant Kosher cuisine in Southern California from Santa Barbara to San Diego since 1970.
We will guide you through the entire planning process from selecting an event site, to renting equipment, choosing decorations & floral arrangements to designing the perfect menu.
